Mr. Shawn Bell, Mr. S. Michael Buckhave, Mrs. Amy Weidman

Mr. Bell is in his second year at Riverside Preparatory School and serves as the Middle School Principal, Director of Special Education, and Athletic Director. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Communications from California State University at San Bernardino and a Masters Degree in Education with an Emphasis in Special Education for National University. Mr. Bell holds credentials in Special Education, and Administration. Prior to coming to Riverside Preparatory, Mr. Bell served as Assistant Principal at Hook Junior High School and has worked with mild/moderate special educations students for 15 years. In sports Mr. Bell is a long-time coach and athlete. His resume includes five years as Assistant Football Coach at Victor Valley College and 6 years as Head Football Coach at Granite Hills High School. He has also coached Track and Field and softball.
Mr. S. Michael Buckhave’s is in his first year as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum Services for the Oro Grande School District. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and received his Master’s Degree and Credential in Educational Administration from California State University, San Bernardino. He is currently attending Pioneer University in pursuit of a Doctorate degree in Education. He holds a clear teaching credential in Life Science and Kinesiology, a certificate in School Business Finance, and a Clear Administrative Credential. Mr. Buckhave has worked in Education for 21 years. He has 14 years of classroom experience teaching science, mathematics, and physical education. During that time, he held numerous school leadership positions including: Science Department Chair, Mathematics Department Chair, GATE Coordinator, Athletic Director, School Site Council President, and Academic Pentathlon Coordinator. Before coming to Riverside Preparatory he served for three years as Assistant Principal at Silverado High School in Victorville, CA.
Mrs. Amy Weidman is a Master Teacher and the Elementary Principal at Riverside Preparatory School, where she also serves as College Prep Counselor. She has been an educator for 25 years, working as an elementary classroom teacher, music teacher and mentor teacher for 21 years before moving into administration. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Elementary Education from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Administrative Services Credential from the University of Southern California, Riverside.
Mrs. Weidman has extensive experience in working with students and teachers in the areas of science and technology, gifted and talented education, bilingual education, and the fine arts, especially music and theater. Mrs. Weidman is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Pioneer University.
