After having substitute taught K-12 at Riverside Preparatory School for over two years,I am thrilled and honored to teach 2nd Grade for the 2010-2011 calendar school year. Through substitute teaching in the various grades,I have seen the embroidering of high standards and excellence in academia that Riverside Prep achieves through project-based teaching, and the community spirit of the school that envelops the students, and staff. I graduated from Salem State College,Salem,Massachusetts, with a B.A. in English Literature, and a minor in Art. My final semester at Salem State College was spent in Caen,France, fulfilling the academic foreign language requirements for graduation, and fueling my passion to travel. This drive to travel brought me to Southern California where I met and married my loving husband,Kevin, over twenty years ago. We have hosted two,year-long,foreign exchange students,Stephen from Germany, and Suzanna from Finland and raised a sibling set of foster children,of which,Tasia, age 21,still lives with us and attends V.V.C. Also under our roof are three dogs, and three cats! Currently,I am attending Brandman, formally Chapman,University concluding my duel credentialing in teaching multiple subject and special education. Hobbies, interests, and activities include:reading (local Book Club member),entertaining, cooking, camping, traveling, and recently,an addiction to Sudoku puzzles has trumped my enjoyment of crossword puzzles.
